About

Jennifer Lindemer (American, b. 1985 - ) lives and works in Detroit, Michigan. Obsessed with conceptual and literal In-Betweens, Lindemer expands the utility of craft in art by highlighting the discrete actions of fiber processes. Rather than relying on the idea of a finished object, she creates work that interrogates the mundane domestic by focusing on a process step. With the expansion and contraction of the craft’s chronology of process, Lindemer believes time becomes a device for critiquing social discourse and lived experience.

Lindemer received her BA in Fine Art and the Liberal Arts from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, and her MFA from the Fiber Department at Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
